Well Being

Abertillery & Llanhilleth Community Council

ALCC does not have a mandatory obligation to generate a well being plan under the Wales Well Being for Future generation’s act 2015. Neither does any Community & Town Council (C&TC) in Blaenau Gwent. This lies with the County Borough Council of Blaenau Gwent

Abertillery & Llanhilleth Community Council, a Statutory Body under Local Government Act 1972, is the largest C&TC within Blaenau Gwent, The community council has agreed to generate a 12 point project plan to identify what the residents of the area wish to be consider for this act in the lower Ebbw Fach Valley.

Well Being Working Group Mission Statement

To consider how to move forward effectively, in the context of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, the Blaenau Gwent Public Service Board's draft Well-being Plan and the Welsh Government Review of the Town and Community Council Sector in Wales, and to come up with a shared vision for the future and specific proposals for future well-being initiatives and report back to the Council with recommendations.

The WBWG are intending to drive the initiative via the community council wards.
