Council Grants

The Council welcomes applications for Council Grants from local community groups, voluntary and other organisations, for funding towards projects to improve local communities. The limit for individual grants is £1,000, however in exceptional circumstances the Council will consider grants in excess of this amount.

Ward Grants

The Council also welcomes applications for Ward Grants. These are for local groups, organisations and projects which benefit residents in each ward area. The 2025-2026 budget allocation for each ward is as follows:

  •  Abertillery: £1000
  • Cwmtillery: £1000
  • Aberbeeg: £600
  • Llanhilleth: £600
  • Six Bells: £600 
If you would like to apply for a Ward Grant, please contact your ward Councillors directly. Their contact details can be found on the 'Councillors' page. A ward meeting will then be held to discuss your application.

Loneliness Project Grants

The Leisure & Tourism Committee awards grants as part of their Loneliness Project. These grants are directed towards local organisations that are keen to give back to the community and are committed to tackling loneliness & isolation in the area.
